Zimbabwe’s CAPS United FC will be hoping for maximum points when it takes on Victors FC of Uganda in a CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round tie in Kampala on Saturday.

The CAPS United entourage of 16 players and seven officials left Harare on Wednesday for Nairobi, Kenya, en route to the Ugandan capital.

The Zimbabweans are hoping to emulate the fine run of another local side, Dynamos FC, which shocked African football fans by reaching the semi-finals of the 2008 CAF Champions League in 2008.

Dynamos were eliminated by Cameroon’s Cotonsport of Garua in the semi-finals, but not before knocking out a string of African powerhouses who included the then defending champions Etoile du Sahel of Tunisia and former cup holders Asec Mimosa of Cote d’Ivoire.
