Baidoa Football club has been crowned the winners of the 2023 edition of the prestigious Baidoa Cup, an enthusiastic tournament held annually in the city of Baidoa, South West State of Somalia.
"I am very pleased to witness myself that football is growing in the South West State of Somalia. People in this state love the game, but they have been lacking the development programs they need and in my capacity as the president of SFF, I am promising that the young talents in the state will have the opportunity to benefit from our development programs” Somali Football Federation president, Ali Abdi Mohamed, told the media during a 3-day official visit to South West State of Somalia.
Meanwhile, the president attended the inauguration ceremony of the regional football association president, Ahmed Ali Hassan, who was re-elected to lead South West State Football Association for a second term. The inauguration ceremony of the regional football association boss and his executive committee was held at Ruun-Jinaad hotel in Baidoa on Monday night.

The final match was played at the recently refurbished
Facility Dr. Ayoub Stadium in Baidoa with the city’s Football Club winning the
trophy after defeating their rivals Baaysom Football Club 2-1 on Monday 22ndof May 2023.
The tournament opened in Baidoa on the 3rd of
March this year and was concluded on Monday. Somali Football Federation
president, Ali Abdi Mohamed, who went to the region on an official working tour
for the 3rd time in less than three months was watching the final
match which attracted the attention of thousands of spectators from Badoa and
surrounding regions.
