Serbia coach Radomir 'Raddy' Antic this week expressed hopes that young Bojan, who has represented Spain at virtually all youth levels, would pledge his senior future to the White Eagles.
Del Bosque, however, has attempted to quash the idea that Bojan will switch back to his mother's country by stating that he belongs to Spain.
"He is our player," said the manager as he prepares for the meeting with Bosnia-Herzegovina for the World Cup qualifiers on September 6.
"We consider him our player, he identifies with Spain, he's a great guy, and we have him with us.
"As for Serbia's interest, I've not discussed it with him as we've been having squad meetings."
Nonetheless del Bosque admitted that it would ultimately be up to the Barcelona forward himself.
"He'll play in the future with Spain, but such decisions are very personal and must not be imposed. They must be freely made by the player," he added.
