The president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Issa Hayatou has written to the president of Somali Football Federation Ali Said Guled Roble to offer his condolence to the entire Somali Football family members over the death of Somalia's renowned football legend Abdullahi Elmi Warsame (Witig) who passed away in Mogadishu on Saturday morning.

"It was a great sadness and sorrow that we learned about the passing away of former national team member Abdullahi Elmi warsame on Saturday, July 27^th2013. Known as ‘Witig’ Mr. Warsame was one of the greatest Somali National football team members for almost 15 years” CAF boss noted in his condolence letter he sent to the president of Somali Football Federation Ali Said Guled Roble.

"On behalf of the CAF executive committee, the African football family and in my personal name we would like to convey the Somali football family and the family of the deceased our deepest condolences for this great loss” president Issa Hayatou said in his condolence message to Somalia.

The urgent condolence letter shows the solidarity of the African football family with Somalia in all difficulties.
