Abokar Mohamed Sheik, chairman of Banadir Sports Club,
invited both teams to a highly organized farewell dinner party held at Maka Al
Mukarama Hotel in the city centre of the capital Mogadishu on Friday evening.
"I am very pleased that my club is the sole National
league member which organized such a beautiful and high level dinner for the
two states who won first and 2nd places of the 2016 Inter-state
football competition” Banadir Sports Club chairman, Abokar Mohamed Sheik said
in his address at the dinner ceremony.
"We organized this beautiful gathering as a moral boost and encouragement for the two teams who played in the final. This is also to create a long-term relationship between Banadir Sports Club and these two and other states in the country” he said.
"We are now planning to make trips to a number of semiautonomous
states in order to have friendly matches with them” Mr. Abokar Mohamed Sheik
explained. Banadir Sports Club are the 2015-2016 Somali champions
and they retained their record after winning the elite National league unbeaten
once again.
The farewell party dinner was attended by Somali Football
Federation senior vice president, Ali Abdi Mohamed, Somali National Olympic
committee coordinator for regional development Ibrahim Hussein Ali, Somali NOC
executive committee member and 1960s Ocean Stars playmaker, Haji Mohamed Ahmed
Olow.
