The schedules were announced during
Somali Football Federation executive committee meeting at the Lido Sea Food
restaurant in the Lido Beach resort of Mogadishu on Saturday.
Addressing at Saturday’s executive
committee meeting, the Somali Football Federation president Ali Said Guled
Roble said that the historic competition will gather 12 clubs divided into 4
groups and will be played on Sundays and Wednesdays.
"As there are a plenty of activities
ahead of us and we don’t have more time we decided to commence the General Da’ud
cup whilst the Nation Link Telecom championship is also under way, because we
want to accomplish our annual plan activities before the end of the year”
Somali Football Federation President Ali Said Guled Roble told the meeting.
General Da’ud was the founder of Somalia’s
Armed Forces and was well known for his football addiction before he died in
Moscow in1965. Since then the Somali Football federation has been organizing
the annual soccer tourney as a memorial for the late national hero.
