DT youth football team accumulated 54 points which was more than enough
for them to win the league. Most matches of the competition weere hosted at the
FIFA-built National Technical centre on Thursdays and Fridays from 5 May 2019
to 19 November 2019, although the last match was played at the FIFA-refurbished
facility Stadium Banadir on Tuesday.
Children aged 15-16 representing 14 youth teams competed in the Domestic
Youth Football League. "This competition has a very special priority for us, because
it produces young and talented boys for our near future U-17 and U-20 national
squads” said Somali Football Federation senior vice president, Ali Abdi Mohamed
as he addressed at the conclusion ceremony of the youth league.
"I would like to thank FIFA for all its support that made it possible for us to promote football in the country from grassroots to senior levels” the SFF vice president noted before presenting the trophy to the wining team.
Coaching experts from SFF technical department shortlisted the most talented players from the competition and Somali Football Federation will soon draw a training schedule for the selected boys, according to senior vice president, Ali Abdi Mohamed.
