A high level delegation from Somali Football Federation has attended the election congress of the Union of Arab Football Associations [UAFA] which has been concluded in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Monday.
The Congress unanimously elected Emir Abddulaziz Bin Turki Bin Faisal, who will serve as the president of UAFA for the next four years. "I thank you for giving me your confidence and for electing me as UAFA president. I promise that I will make a huge change of football development in the Arab world” the new UAFA president, Emir Abddulaziz Bin Turki Bin Faisal, told delegates during his post-election address.
Somalia was represented in the election congress by a two-member
delegation; SFF vice president for regional development Abdullahi Sheik Nor
Ahmed and Mohamed Osman Ibrahim, the head of the department for Arab relations.
"The congress was attended by all UAFA-affiliated
countries and there were discussions on key issues relating to the development
of football in the Arab world” Somali Football Federation vice president for
regional development, Abdullahi Sheik Nor Ahmed, told SFF media as the congress
concluded on Monday.
