In February this year, Somali Football Federation
executive committee approved a number of football development programs which included
the implementation of football administration offices in all regions and the
construction of stadiums in several regions before the end of the year.
Somali Football Federation senior vice president, Ali
Abdi Mohamed, deputy chairman for the regional football development committee,
Abokar Islaw Hassan and the South West State minister for youth and sports, Ali
Mohamed Ali have jointly inaugurated the new office in the city of Baidoa, 246
kilometers south west of the capital Mogadishu.
The launch of the new office for the regional football association comes nearly three weeks after a survey conducted by the SFF identified major football development needs in the South Western regional State.
The regional state’s minister for youth and sports Ali
Mohamed Ali thanked Somali Football Federation for the implementation of the office
which is fully equipped with office equipment and furniture.
Meanwhile, the SFF delegation and the regional minister for
youth and sport together with the South Western state football association office
bearers visited the ill-equipped Dr. Ayub Stadium in Baidoa to study the
situation of the field.
