Former Somali national football team goalkeeper, Ahmed Abdalla Moalim Mohamed, has passed away after a protracted illness, Somali Football Federation confirms.

 


Born in Mogadishu on March 8, 1993, the late goalie died on Saturday, 28 July 2018 in Turkey, where he was undergoing treatment for a chronic ailment.


Somali Football Federation president, Abdiqani Said Arab, said that the passing of Ahmed Abdalla Moalim Mohamed is a shocking experience for his family, relatives and the entire Somali Football Family members.

"It is with sadness to miss one of Somalia’s young footballers who devoted to their country in such difficult times. I wish him rest in peace and that Allah give him a place in his Paradise” Somali Football Federation president, Abdiqani Said Arab, said in a statement.



The late Ahmed Abdalla Moalim Mohamed, represented his country, Somalia in a number of international football competitions starting from junior level to the senior National team.

He represented the country in nearly 10 international competitions and he took most of his time with the Somali Premier League club of Elman FC, with which he won two Premier League titles and a Supper Cup. Ahmed Abdalla Moalim Mohamed, cut short his career at an early age as he couldn’t continue due to a protracted illness that finally.
