The president together with his senior vice president Ali
Abdi Mohamed and deputy secretary general Ali Mohamed Ahmed met with the three
Somali young footballers who are representing the country in this year’s
Football for Friendship program.
SFF member Yusuf Hussein Moumin, who is at the centre
with the boys, briefed the president’s delegation on the situation of the young
footballers and the activities they have been involved in since their arrival in
Moscow.
The president also chatted with the boys, who expressed their pleasure with being part of the football for friendship program that brought together some 1500 children from around the world. Abdirahman Mohamud Jama told the president "We have gained experience through the football for friendship program. We will get back home with some knowledge and experience”.
"The football for friendship program has given us more encouragement
and has built up our hope for football” one of the boys, Abdullahi Ali Hassan,
said. On his side, zakaria Ahmed Mohamed said "We thank Somali football
federation for giving us such golden opportunity which has boosted our appetite
for the game”.
Each of the boys has been placed in a different team that
is doing a particular activity, but the good news is that the team of zakaria
Ahmed Mohamed has been able to get through to the semifinal of the F4F
competition. Somali Football Federation delegation to the FIFA congress
and the boys who attended the football for friendship program will get back
