Council of East and Central Africa Football Association [CECAFA], has expressed its deepest condolence following the killing of a football coach and the injuries of two footballers in Somalia on Monday.
"I send to you and the families of the victims my message of condolence and courage. It is sad for such incident to happen when Somali FA is really trying all their best to build a strong football culture in the country” Mr. Musonye said. "CECAFA shares with you this sad moment and would like to condemn the perpetrators of the heinous act” the condolence letter reads.
The fatal shooting outside Mogadishu late on Monday afternoon, claimed the life of Bariga Dhexe Football Club assistant coach, Yusuf Ali Heydar and wounded two of Elman FC footballers, Omar Moumin Daahir and Abdullahi Mohamed Mayow.
"I am deeply sorry for the sad news of the
shooting incident outside Mogadishu which claimed the life of the coach and
injury on two players” CECAFA General Secretary Nicholas Musonye, said in his
condolence letter sent to Somalia FA president, Adiqani Said Arab on Tuesday.
