The final match of the 2016 edition of Djibouti Cup has been postponed due to the Holy Month of Ramadan, Djibouti Football Federation, announced here on Wednesday 8th of June.
Both clubs have never won the Djibouti cup, a premier football event which was first inaugurated in Djibouti in 1996, but if Djibouti Telecom wins this time, it will mark a great year for them as they are already the country’s champions.
The final match will be
contested by Djibouti Telecom FC, current National championship holders and
Dikhil FC. Both clubs are from the southern regions of the country.
"For respect of the Holy
month of Ramdan during which all people in this country are fasting we have
decided to postpone the final match of the tourney” Djibouti Football
Federation president, Souleiman Hassan Waberi, said in a statement. The president said that
the match will take place sometime between 8-15 July adding that the exact day
will be announced next week.

Djibouti Telecom lost in
the finals of the 2012, 2013 and 2014 editions of Djibouti Cup event which is
the second most-watched football competition in the country after the national
league known here as the FDF Division A.
