The country’s first ever
national beach soccer team is scheduled to play against Morocco in their last
leg of the 2015 African Beach soccer championship qualifiers.
The match will take
place in the Moroccan city of Casablanca on Sunday, 29th of March.
If Djibouti wins in the qualifier clash, they will have booked their place in
the African beach soccer championship scheduled in Seychelles in April this
year.
Djibouti’s side were
lucky to promote to the second round of the qualifiers after they gained 3
points in forfeit, because Sudan who were scheduled to face them didn’t show up
for the match.
Morocco is one of the
strong football nations in Africa, but Djibouti’s Football Boss Souleiman
Hassan Waberi who talked to CECAFA Media said he was very hopeful of his national
flag carriers.
"In football you can
either expect to win, draw or lose, but I am confident in my players and I wish
success for them” President Souleiman Hassan Waberi told CECAFA Media on
Saturday.
Djibouti had made more
progresses in football for the past two years during which the young age
President, Souleiman Hassan waberi, lead the country to its major football victory
ever. Recently, Djibouti
women’s U 17 national squad, showed a wonder at the Pan Arab women’s soccer
tournament held in Dhoha. But they had unluckily fallen to Lebanon by 1-0 in the final game.
