In
the 2nd minute of the match, striker Liban Yusuf Hersi scored the lone
goal for his Savana FC which is at the bottom of the competition with zero
points. The goal was recognized as the earliest goal to be scored so far at the
Nation Link Telecom Championship, since the country’s season started in
November last year.
Savana
who have never won a single match during the season, were very ambitious to win
Friday’s match as they happened to hold Elman FC 1-0 in the first half.
But
in the early minutes of the 2nd half Elman seemed to have changed
tactics by making an exhibition of a combined strong defence and successive
attacks so that they scored their equalising goal in the 51st minute
of the second half. The goal came from striker Abdullahi Isse Mahmoud.
In
the 65th minute of the second half, the same striker Abdullahi Isse
Mahmoud made the winning goal for his Elman FC who since then strengthened
their defence lines to tighten their victory. The player who wears the Number
10 for his Elman FC was recognized as the ‘pioneer’ of Elman’s victory in Friday’s
match.
Elman
FC is currently in the 2nd place of the league. Heegan and Elman
have 9 points each, but in terms of goal difference Elman might have been
higher and that is why it was in the 2nd place after Banadir Sports
Club who are now leading the competition. Meanwhile
Dekedda will take on Jeenyo United on Monday next week, while Gaadiidka and
Horseed will play on Tuesday according to the schedules of the competition.
