A group of 27 Djiboutian football referees have been trained at a FIFA-level course which came to an end at the FDF technical centre in the capital Djibouti on Wednesday.

The training course was organized by the Djiboutian Football Federation in collaboration with the International Football’s ruling body [FIFA] and continued from 23 to 27 September 2017.

FIFA instructors Noumandiez DOUÉ (Côte d'Ivoire) and Mohamed Houssein Ali (Djibouti) were teaching at the course with the assistance from local instructors: Aden Robleh Rayaleh and Abdo Ali Mohamed. All 27 participants were awarded with certificates of attendance after passing both fitness and theory tests taken during the five-day course.

President of Djiboutian Football Federation and CAF executive committee member, Souleiman Hassan Waberi, said that the course was one of the marathon development programs which have been running in the country with the help from FIFA.

"Refereeing is an important sector for the beautiful game and that is why we have been organizing more local and international level courses over the years” said the president who doubles as chairman of CAF referees committee.
