Gaadiidka Football Club got off to a brilliant start after humiliating Badbaado FC 5-2 in the opening match of the 2019 edition of Somalia's General Da'ud Cup on Monday.
Haybe Ali Diriye and Hassan Abdullahi Ali scored Badbado’s two goals in the 14th and 77th minutes of the match, although the team got reduced to 10-man after Mohiyadin Mohamed Jimaale was awarded with a red card close to the end of the first half. Geeska Afrika will take on Batroolka FC on Tuesday. Monday’s opening match of the prestigious football tourney, was hosted at the FIFA-rebuilt facility, Stadium Banadir east of the capital Mogadishu. The venue will host most games of the fixture which is the second most-watched sporting competition in the country.
General Da’ud Cup is an annual football competition and it is held in honour of General Da’ud Abdulle Hersi, the founder of Somalia’s Armed Forces, who died in 1965, but Somali Football Federation has been organizing the sporting event since 1972 in the commemoration of the founding father of Somali National Army.

Kasozi Remex was awarded with the ball after netting hat-trick for his team in
the 20th, 31st and 90th minutes of the match,
while Bile Burale scored a goal from a penalty kick in the last minute of the first
half.
