Horseed Sports Club have on Friday evening undertaken their first training session in the Moroccan city of Casablanca in preparation for this year's edition of Mohamed VI Champions Cup.
After three decades of absence from global club competitions, the old football club is now going to reappear in the international platform when it faces Iraqi’s Al-Zawra’a on Sunday in what will be its first international exhibition in 30 years.
According to the fixtures of the tourney, the Somali
giants, Horseed SC will take on their Iraqi counterpart, Al-Zawra’a on Sunday
afternoon. Somali Football Federation executive committee member
Omar Mahmoud Nor, who is travelling with Horseed’s delegation said that team has
today taken a prolonged training session, as part of their warm-up for the
upcoming tourney.
Owned by the Somali Armed Forces, Horseed Sports Club,
won the Somali Premier League seven times before the country fell into anarchy
in 1991 and it was the most formidable football club in Somalia.
