This was Elman’s second big win in the year, as they
earlier won the General Da’ud Cup which is the second most prestigious sporting
event in Somalia. A goal from a penalty kick in the 64th minute
of the match was enough for the Somali Elite league side to celebrate for their
victory. This was Elman FC’s 3rd Supper Cup they have ever won, but
for their coach, Abdiweli Mohamed Mahmoud, it was a new history.
During his football career as a player, Abdiweli Mohamed Mahmoud , has never won a Super Cup and as a coach this was his first win. "This is a big team in Somalia, but has experienced bad times in recent history and as a coach I am very happy to lead the team to a higher position once again. We made numerous changes and we have seen the good results of our efforts in recent months” the coach said.
"A lot of job is a head of me and my history will be
complete when I win the National league. I will continue the fight and I am
hopeful to win the National league trophy next year. Thanks to team owners and
thanks to my players for the good cooperation” Elman FC coach Abdiweli Mohamed
Mahmoud said.
